HAMPSHIRE have named a 12-player squad for their opening County Championship match at Durham.

The Utilita Bowl side begin their season on Friday at the Riverside - as they look to improve on last campaign's third-placed finish.

Opening batter Ali Orr, who joined from Sussex in November, is in line to make his Hampshire debut while experienced bowler Muhammad Abbas is also part of the squad.

Unfortunately, Keith Barker and John Turner are unavailable for the opener as they are both currently nursing knee injuries.

The squad travelled up to newly-promoted Durham on Wednesday and will be hoping to make a fast start to the season.

Play is scheduled to begin at 11am on Friday and Durham will be live streaming the match on their YouTube channel, while you can also find updates on Hampshire's website.

Durham's side is likely to include the likes of bowlers Matthew Potts, Brydon Carse, and former England opener Alex Lees.
