Winnall Primary School is fundraising to raise money for the purchase of large football goals.

Sam Feltham, the Parent Governor at Winnall Primary School and Chair of Winnall Forum, is spearheading this initiative.

He said: "Winnall has never had large football goals before, so if we manage to raise the money it will allow us to properly train the children and host other schools for matches."

The school has set up a GoFundMe to help kick on and raise the money it needs.

In addition to this fundraiser, Winnall Primary School's Summer Fayre took place on Friday, June 30, and featured a 'beat the goalie' stand with participants taking shots at PE teacher Mr Jewell, with funds raised going towards the campaign to purchase the goals.

The school is looking to purchase large goals ahead of the Women's World Cup in July.

They have specifically set their eyes on a set of Portable Samba Speed Goals, which are easy to set up and store, making them perfect for the school's needs.

With the addition of these two goals, Winnall Primary School can provide proper training for their students and host matches with other schools.

Their fundraising target is set at £300; however, any additional funds raised will be utilized to acquire new football kits for the school.

The school is appealing for donations and also requesting people to help spread the word about their campaign.

All funds raised through the GoFundMe page will be directly transferred to Winnall Primary School.
