Despite dismal weather, more than 100 visitors experienced the Countess of Brecknock Hospice gardens this weekend, raising a whopping £2,600.
The funds, gathered over two days from ticket sales and purchases of plants and gifts, were collected during a wide range of attractions.
A plant sale, featuring a range of plants provided by the Andover hospice's supporters, allowed visitors to contribute directly to the cause.
Guests were also treated to tea and homemade cake, complementing the serene environment expertly curated by RHS award winner, Fi Boyle.
Michele Gard, charity director, said: "We’re so grateful for everyone who’s come this weekend to support the hospice and visit our gardens."
One of those who visited was Sue, from Andover, whose husband was looked after by the hospice.
Sue said: “It was lovely to visit the gardens at the hospice and it’s good to be able to do it while raising funds for the Countess of Brecknock Hospice, who looked after my husband”.
The gardens, low maintenance by design, offer year-round interest from their soft hues of white, green, blue, and subtle pink and scented plants.
Additionally, each room in the hospice's in-patient unit opens directly to these gardens, ensuring the peaceful tranquillity of the outdoors is readily available to all.
