I'D like to ask Hampshire Crime Commissioner (HCC) Donna Jones what she means about "20,000 extra police delivered", as per the highly political partisan, misleading and expensive-looking flyer that's just plopped through my door in Winchester?

As Chronicle readers will know, these 'extra' officers simply replace the 21,000 police officers that the Tories cut between March 2010 and March 2018 - along with selling off police stations which have not been replaced (ignoring admin staff losses, too).

Unfortunately, my efforts to ask the commissioner have been rebuffed. Jones has blocked me on Twitter (X) - even though her account is marked as an official HCC one. She has also declined to respond to my letters to her at HCC, and other enquiries, including open letters via the Chronicle. Yet this Conservative-supporting holder of this £89,000 per annum post still finds time to appear on conspiracy-fomenting Ofcom censured 'news' channel GB News, whilst ignoring voices, such as mine, as well as the manifold crime problems she has reigned over.

Perhaps, like me, your readers should consider carefully not just the councillors they want to elect locally on May 2, but also - on the same date - whether Hampshire residents should vote with their feet and let Commissioner Jones know that it's time for her to get on her bike and go?
