A 39-year-old man has been charged after officers investigated a burglary at an address in Winchester.

Bradley Coombes, 39, of Hyde Gate, Winchester, has been charged with burglary dwelling with intent to steal.

It comes after officers received a report that entry was gained to a property on Hyde Gate and £600 in cash was stolen at around 2.30am on Tuesday, April 23.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: "Detectives from the Northern Area Crime Team investigated the report and charged Coombes.

"He appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court earlier today (Monday, April 29) and was remanded into custody.

"Coombes is next due to appear at Winchester Crown Court on Wednesday, May 29."
