A FORMER Winchester city centre night club is on the market, six months after a cannabis factory was found inside.

Vodka Bar and Nightclub in Upper Brook Street was raided by police on Monday, November 20 when a large number of cannabis plants were found in a room at the back.

It is now being marketed by Goadsby for a price of £1.1m or £100,000 a year rent.

In the estate agent's online brochure, it said: “The property comprises a three storey former bar/nightclub with lower ground floor level with separate access, upper for bar level and flat for staff accommodation to the rear. There is a large yard for loading or the potential for use as an outdoor function space. The property is in need of refurbishment and presents a unique opportunity for one of Winchester’s only late night venues.”

Several other businesses would have something to say about "large yard... the potential for use as an outdoor function space" as it is currently in constant use for deliveries, making it impossible to use for anything else. Other businesses have the right to use the yard which is owned by the city council.

After the cannabis factory was found police arrested a Winchester man. A police spokesman confirmed the investigation was still ongoing and that the man is on bail until May 20.
