1. Filipina comedian and scientist, Ria Lina, is coming to The Arc in Jewry Street on Saturday, March 27 with her show: Riawakening. 

In this, her highly anticipated debut tour, Ria tackles the issues of coming out of a global pandemic, the new normal, divorce, dating in a new digital world, motherhood and what it really means to be a woman today.

The only Filipina comedian in British stand-up has featured on popular shows including: Live At The Apollo, Have I Got News For You?, Mock the Week, Lovestruck High, Richard Hammond’s Brain Reaction, Richard Osman’s House of Games, The Last Leg and Celebrity Mastermind.

2. How about a trip to the Winchester Science Centre? This Saturday, celebrate the 50th anniversary of Pink Floyds’ iconic The Dark Side of the Moon album. 

The Planetarium is joining hundreds of others around the world in an event like no other, recreating their famous 1973 London Planetarium press launch but on a global scale.

Head off on an emotional journey into the heart and themes of the iconic album, whilst flying through the Solar System and zooming through the stars in a 360 degree full-dome experience. The show will be divided between the 10 tracks of the album in chronological order.

Tickets cost £25, with an age limit of 17 years or above. Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7.15pm show.

If Pink Floyd doesn’t take your fancy, London rock band Led Zeppelin will be there with a later start time at 8.45pm.

Hampshire Chronicle: Bandfest24 will take place at The Railway Inn on Sunday, 12 May from 5.30pm.

3. On the topic of music, why not check out Heavy Lungs, who will be playing at The Railway Inn Saturday.

Formed during the early days of summer 2017, Bristol punk/noise rock band, Heavy Lungs have three EPs to their name released.

The band has attracted significant radio play already with fans including: Steve Lamacq and Iggy Pop at BBC 6 music, and sharing stages with the likes of METZ, TheeOh Sees, IDLES, JOHN, CROWS, and DITZ, the band have always been in good company.

The doors will be open from 7.30pm, with tickets costing £10. Anyone who wishes to pay on the door can do so, but will be charged £13.

4. Winchester's Weeke Community Centre is hosting An Evening Of Musicals this Saturday.

Step into a world of musical magic, bringing together unforgettable melodies and electrifying dance with numbers from beloved productions like Mamma Mia, Fame, Mary Poppins and Everybody's Talking About Jamie, and more. 

Tickets range cost £16, with £12 concessions, with an additional booking fee. The doors will be open from 7pm with the show commencing at 7.30pm.

5. Our last event we recommend checking out is Comic Con, taking place at the Places Leisure, Eastleigh.

This will be a great day for families, sci-fi collectors, fans, and every other kind of Comic Con Fan. There is lots to see and do, including out of this world displays and props, traders selling out of this world collections, meet celebrities from TV and the movies.

For those who like cosplay, there will be a wide array of cosplayers on arrival, fans attending are invited to dress up as their favourite TV, film or other fictional character. 

The event will be on Saturday, from 10am through until 5pm. 

Tickets cost £9 (plus booking fee) for adults and £5 for children £5.
