This May, The Arc Winchester presents an array of music, comedy, and exhibitions, alongside a range of activities designed specifically for children.

The venue, run by Hampshire Cultural Trust, is showcasing two thought-provoking exhibitions in collaboration with renowned artist Grayson Perry and Winchester Photographic Society.

Perry's Essex House Tapestries - The Life of Julie Cope, on view till June 12, presents a depiction of modern British social life.

Supported by a gift aid donation, admission is priced at £2.50 for children, £3.50 for concession holders, and £4.50 for adults.

Winchester Photographic Society 2024, an exhibition marking the society's centenary, features the best photographs curated by a panel of judges.

The exhibition runs till June 9, and entry is free but donations are welcome.

On the comedy front, Ania Magliano performs on May 1.

Known for her triumphant run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and winning the "Best New Show" at Leicester Comedy Festival 2022, tickets are £14.

Also in the lineup is Mark Thomas, who will perform new material for his upcoming show on May 24. Visitors can join in for jokes and political discourse at a price of £15 for adults and £10 for concession holders.

The Arc will play host to various musical performances, starting with songwriter Dean Dyson, a familiar busker in Winchester High Street, on May 4, with tickets starting at £15. Following Dyson will be Flamenco Express on May 10, Talisk on May 13, with tickets priced at £18.

Children aged 9-16 years can join a Grayson Perry-inspired clay pot-making session using air-drying clay on May 27. More hands-on activities include lino print tote bags on May 28, weaving workshops on May 29. Workshops start at £8 per child, ending at £22 for more detailed sessions.

Lastly, as part of its film screenings, on May 18, the Arc will showcase Chasing The Sun, a film directed by two-time BAFTA-winner Michael B. Clifford. This film highlights the power of cycling and its transformative nature.

Tickets are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for children.
