Theatre Royal Winchester is set to host one-man show, Jack's Ashes, on May 1.

The events align with Mental Health Awareness Week, which takes place from May 13-19.

Jack's Ashes offers an exposure to the potential psychological disturbances playing a pivotal role in a person's downfall.

The show was curated in collaboration with professional sports bodies and mental health charities, using comical elements to dismantle the stigma surrounding mental health.

A post-show discussion is arranged with current Hampshire County Cricket players, Chris Wood, Ian Holland and James Vince.

The show is the brainchild of Matt Banes and Tim Marriott, with Marriott also being part of the cast.

Banes, a former professional cricketer and Marriott, an award-winning producer and performer who starred in the BBC sitcom, The Brittas Empire.

Contributions also came from cricket icons including David Lloyd, Ed Cowan, Robert Craddock and Shane Watson.

Jack's Ashes bagged the Best Theatre Award at the Adelaide Fringe 2023, while Marriott received Best Actor at the Edinburgh Festival Awards 2023.

The show will start at 7.30pm and is suitable for ages 12 and up. For more details, visit the Theatre Royal Winchester website or ring 01962 840 440. Tickets start at £6.
