Chairman Ann Jones welcomed everyone to the Winchester Branch AGM in February and made a particular point of saying how much she appreciated all her committee.  That was very touching.

She went on to say that it had been a bumper year with fundraising bringing in a huge amount.

The Branch had held eight fundraising events in the past year. These include a Murder Mystery Evening, Sutton Scotney Coffee & Cakes, Plant Sale in Hyde, Cream Tea at Church Cottage Compton, Coffee by Rick Stein, Quiz at Shawford, Car Boot Sale in Winchester plus our treasurer’s annual Christmas Cards Sale and Coffee at her home.

Head Office sent us information on research which continues to find new ways to help people with the many muscular conditions and this needs a great deal of funding.  The Branch’s payments to HQ this year so far have been £8,968.

Chairman Ann was honoured to be invited to lunch at the House of Lords. This was inspirational.

The meeting finished with everyone agreeing that they felt enthusiastic and encouraged to continue to work hard to raise money towards support for the many sufferers of these diseases. We especially appreciate the local people who support us.
