A WINCHESTER man has been imprisoned for repeatedly shoplifting.

James Hall, of Sussex Street, pleaded guilty to four charges of shoplifting in Winchester between November 15 and January 10.

This included stealing a £14 bottle of vodka from Marks and Spencer on November 15, a pack of Budweiser worth £6.70 from the Co-op on November 28, a pack of Fosters beer worth £4.60 from Tesco on November 28, and a bottle of wine worth £9.75 from the Co-op on January 10.

The total value of the items he stole adds up to £35.05

Appearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 4, Hall, 25, was sentenced to 10 weeks in prison.

The court heard that Hall is being imprisoned due to the seriousness of the offences, and because they were committed while he was on bail.
