WINCHESTER’S first menopause café has added two more sessions due to the first café being booked up a month before the event.

The scheme, designed to combat stigma and build awareness around menopause, is launching at Cabinet Rooms in Jewry Street this month.

The first free event organised by Sharon Worth, a personal trainer also known as The Meno Coach, who specialises in supporting women’s health and well-being is fully booked out.

To meet the high demand, Sharon has added an extra two Menopause Cafes, on Thursday, April 18 and Thursday, May 16.

The Meno Coach said: “This overwhelming response underscores the clear need for such supportive initiatives within our community, and I am heartened to see so many individuals embracing conversations surrounding this important topic. I believe that increased dialogue can only foster greater awareness and support for everyone involved.”

Both will run from 5.30 to 7.30pm at Cabinet Rooms. The April session is open for bookings on Eventbrite while bookings for the May event will open from Tuesday, March 19.

A Menopause Cafe is a discussion group, open to all ages and genders. The movement started in Perth, in Scotland, in 2017 and has spread across the world, with volunteers now hosting pop-up events in the UK, Bahrain, Mexico, USA, Austria and India.
