Councils keep stating they have to save money. One way would be to cut the number of staff; not to deny the public more services.
The recycling centres are a sure requirement for the public. If the appointment system was scrapped it would be a lot easier, plus it should then reduce fly-tipping.
To close these centres would increase fly-tipping; and mean disabled people will not be able to recycle, and so on.
Councils need to compromise, but that will be the day!
They should keep a team of two or three staff and open alternate days. For instance, Monday, Alresford, Tuesdays, another recycling centre. Keeping one open each day could help save some money. It's an idea.
