Romsey School prepare for mission to Nepal with Nimsdai Foundation

The Nimsdai Foundation was invited to The Romsey School to meet 21 pupils who are visiting Nepal to work on a community project as well as help teach the children English there.

The Nimsdai Foundation has helped with a grant.

Executive director Glen Mallen gavea short presentation outlining the values and impact of its work.

He said: "This invaluable experience will change the lives of those young adults going, as well as improve the school conditions and help educate the local children.

“As a Foundation, we are proud to have been able to issue some rucksacks donated to us by Osprey Europe; these will be given to the Nepalese schoolchildren. We were also pleased to be able to provide a small financial grant.

"The Nimsdai Foundation believes in changing lives, together.  This grant, issued under our Education pillar, allows us to engage with and improve the lives of young people both in the UK and Nepal."

Simon Lawrenson, the school's year 10 Progress Leader who is leading the trip, thanked the Nimsdai Foundation for their generosity. He said: “Next summer, a group of adventurous Romsey School students will embark on a life-changing trip to Nepal, where they'll be building a much-needed 10,000-litre water tank for a school in a remote community in Nepal.

“This amazing opportunity wouldn't be possible without the Nimsdai Foundation's support. Their belief in our students' potential and commitment to social impact has truly inspired us.

“The water tank project will provide clean, safe drinking water for hundreds of students and their families, transforming their lives for the better.  Not only will our students gain invaluable experience and cultural understanding, but they'll also be making a real difference in the world.”
