A MAN caught drug driving in Otterbourne has been banned for a year and hit with £785 penalties.
Lee Sainsbury, 28, of Wellbrook Gardens, Chandler's Ford, was stopped by the police in Main Road whilst driving a white Vauxhall Astra van on October 27 last year, a court heard.
Prosecutor Serena Edwards said Sainsbury was tested and returned a reading for cannabis of 6.9ug per litre of blood when the legal limit is 2ug, making him more than three times the limit.
He admitted the charge when he appeared a Basingstoke Magistrates Court on Thursday February 15.
Magistrates imposed a 12-month driving disqualification, a £500 fine, a £200 victim surcharge and £85 costs. The penalties must be paid by March 14.
