A WINCHESTER man has been jailed for unprovoked attacks on two police officers.
Christopher Peake, assaulted Adam Buckland and Phil Lawrence on Wednesday February 14 , as well as criminal damage to a window at West View House in Hyde Gate, Hyde, and threatening behaviour in Jewry Street on the same day.
Peake, 43, of Christchurch Road, pleaded guilty to the four charges when he appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on Thursday February 15.
Magistrates in Basingstoke jailed him for 16 weeks. They said the offences were "so serious that only a custodial sentence is justified" and that it was a unprovoked attack from a man with a lengthy record of similar offences.
There was no order for compensation because of the prison sentence imposed.
