DEMOLITION is nearly complete at the Friarsgate Medical Centre in Winchester, with plans in place to install a “pop-up park” .
The building, which has been empty for nearly a decade, had deteriorated over the years of disuse and has been demolished over the past four months.
It is part of the Central Winchester Regeneration area, better known as Silver Hill.

he city council's development partner Jigsaw Consortium shared an update last week regarding the £100m-plus scheme to redevelop the area of the city between Friarsgate and The Broadway.
In a meeting with the council, Jigsaw claims it will have a comprehensive plan together within the next year.
Now, virtually all the demolition has been done, with only scraps remaining. Most of the rubble has been cleared and only a couple of walls remain.
The short-term plan is to create a “pop-up park” next to the River Itchen, undertake an archaeological dig, and create an area for informal teaching and cultural events.
