A NEW Screwfix has opened in Bishop’s Waltham.

The shop has taken on the lease of Unit 2 in Quarry Business Park on Lower Lane, completing the long-term lettings of the newly built industrial units.

The management of the lease was handled by Goadsby.

“Screwfix have approximately 1,726 stores across the UK and has been taking on smaller stores to service the areas in between larger towns. The unit extends to 2,938 sq ft and has been taken on a new 10-year lease.”

John Mewett, Screwfix CEO, said last year: “The ongoing expansion of our network ensures we continue to bring Screwfix ever closer to our customers.

“In response to sustained demand from tradespeople across the UK, Republic of Ireland and France, we have accelerated our store opening programme so that our customers are always near a Screwfix store.

Winchester City Council built the industrial estate speculatively and was able to accommodate the fire service while its new station was built.
