THE Somborne Players will perform its own take on Robin Hood for its annual pantomime.
The village production of Babes in the Wood, directed by David Welton and Jonathan Crump, is coming to King’s Somborne Village Hall in February half term.
All the actors are from the King’s Somborne area, including children as young as five. Familiar faces include Sian Johnston as Maid Marion, Rebecca Rickard as Robin Hood and Sam Judges as the Sheriff of Nottingham.

The ‘Babes’ are played by Megan Horrell, aged eight, and Samson Cuff, aged 11, who make their debut speaking roles in the pantomime. Many of the other cast will be recognised from previous years such as Block and Tackle, the Sheriff’s henchmen (played by Lesley Everard-Evans and Audrey Thomas), while Nurse Molly Coddle is performed by Alan Glynne-Jones.
Ruth Eckett, Vanessa McClenaghan and Davina Nicholson do their best to ensure that good triumphs over evil as the Merry Men, joined by David Haydon as Friar Tuck. Rory McCleneghan as Dangerous Dave tries to join the outlaws with the support of the audience, which is encouraged to boo and hiss as appropriate, and the fairy (played Caroline Crump) is there to help along the way.
Performances are on Friday, February 16 and Saturday, February 17 at 7.30pm with a matinee on the Saturday at 2.30pm.
Tickets are available from ticketsource.co.uk/somborne-players. Tickets cost £8.50 for adults and £4.50 for under 18s. Tickets are also being sold at Cross Stores in King's Somborne as well as the Somborne Café on Tuesday, February 6.
