AN ALRESFORD man has been banned from the road for drunk driving.

Oliver White, of Station Road, was driving a Volkswagon Polo when he was stopped by officers on East Lane in Alresford. He returned an alcohol reading of 108 micrograms in 100 millilitres of breath, more than three times over the legal limit of 35 micrograms.

Appearing at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on Thursday, January 4, the 23-year-old pleaded guilty to a charge of drunk driving.

White has been banned from the road for 25 months, which can be reduced by 25 weeks if he completes a course. He must also complete 100 hours of community service and pay costs of £85, and a £114 surcharge.

The total amount of £199 must be paid by February 1.
