A WINCHESTER man has been charged with attempted murder after two people were attacked in a home in Stanmore.
Police were called to a home in Fox Lane on Wednesday, January 3, to reports that a man in his 70s and woman in her 60s had both been attacked.
A police spokesman said: “A man in his 70s sustained serious facial injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. A woman in her 60s sustained injuries to her hands.”
The Chronicle has been told that forensics were spotted at the scene on Thursday, January 4.
Luke Robert Stride, 33, of Fox Lane, has been charged with attempted murder and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Stride is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court today (Friday, January 5).
