A ROAD from Otterbourne to Colden Common will be closed overnight for Southern Water works.
After weeks of residents in Brambridge dealing with groundwater flooding and sewage pouring into their gardens, Southern Water is responding.
Kiln Lane will be closed from 6pm today (Wednesday, December 12) for the utility company to lay around 300m of pipe work to mitigate flooding issues.
If all goes to plan the road will re-open in the morning (Thursday, December 13).
Colden Common and Twyford ward councillor, Sue Cook, has informed residents and businesses including Brambridge Garden Centre of the closure.

Cllr Cook said: “Southern Water has been extremely helpful. One of the advisors talked me through it all. This work should really help with the problems we’ve been having, this is the start of the action plan.”
Four tankers arrived this morning to remove water from the holding tanks, with around 70,000 litres of water in each holding tank.
Heavy rainfall first caused Church Lane, Wardle Road and Highbridge Road to flood on Thursday, December 7. Residents had unsanitary items and sewage flowing into their front driveways.
Brambridge was hit with flooding again on Tuesday, December 19 after more heavy rain, with more sewage entering the River Itchen.
A spokesperson for Southern Water, said: "Our teams are tackling an inundation of groundwater entering our sewers in Brambridge, which has resulted in some of our manholes spilling, which has impacted customers in the area.

“We’re doing everything we can to resolve the issue and minimise the environmental impact of this, as part of this we will be carrying out a tankering operation in the area.
“This involves temporary storage tanks at Highbridge Road being emptied and the wastewater being taken to Chickenhall Lane Wastewater Treatment Works. This will alleviate the pressure on our network.”
“Additionally we will be sampling at watercourses near Wardle Road, to work out if there has been any environmental impact on the River Itchen.
“We’re sorry for the disruption and noise our work will have on residents and businesses in Brambridge and for any issues they have experienced.”
Kiln Lane has re-opened but Southern Water remains on site.
