Janet Budd is absolutely right to make her last-minute suggestion to the Church Commissioners to donate the land of Bushfield Farm to the citizens of Winchester (Chronicle, Letters, October 12). 

It is the perfect place for low-cost housing to be built on the site of the actual army camp, so that the wild part below it and to the east is included as a "nature emergency" for the people round about. 

There is already quite enough commercial development rightly taking place elsewhere in the city.
