A MAN who was arrested following an incident which saw a woman collapse and fit at the Isle of Wight Festival 2023 allegedly from a 'spiked vape' has been released under investigation.

A police investigation is continuing, nearly four months on, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed.

As reported in June, a 26-year-old said she was 'duped' into taking a puff of a vape at the festival, offered to her by a man she did not know.

She said it led to her needing medical assistance on Saturday, June 17.

A post on social media said Chloe Hammerton, from Southampton, was in and out of consciousness, fitting and unable to move or speak, within a minute of taking a puff of the vape.

Her partner Natasha Ward, from Winchester, said it was "one of the worst 24 hours of her life".

An investigation was launched by police and a 51-year-old man from Rochester, Kent, was arrested.

He was detained on suspicion of administering a poison or noxious substance with intent and later bailed.

Now, police have said the man arrested has been released under investigation while the investigation continues.
