The Santa Fun Run, which has been running for 15 years, is returning to Winchester this December.

Naomi House and Jacksplace, local hospices for children and young adults, are preparing to welcome hundreds of Santas to the annual fun run 5k fundraising event on Sunday, December 3.

The yuletide dash is perfect for children and adults and runners of all abilities.

Dressed in Santa suits, the runners will begin with a festive Zumba warm-up at 8.55am, before taking on the route through the city and past a number of Winchester’s most famous attractions, including the King Alfred Statue and cathedral.

The race finishes outside the Guildhall in a flurry of artifical snow.

Naomi House and Jacksplace is a charity that provides expert hospice care for children and young adults who have complex care needs. They support more than 550 families across central southern England.

Charlotte Patrick, events team leader, said: “We are extremely excited that our Santa Fun Run is returning to Winchester, it is our jolliest event of the year with hundreds of Santas running the streets. The fundraising efforts from the runners so far have been amazing. Everyone who takes part, or who supports a participant with sponsorship, really helps to make a difference for the children, young adults and their families here at Naomi House and Jacksplace.”
