The demolition of a landmark building in Winchester city centre has started.
The derelict Friarsgate Medical Centre will be replaced by an open space as a 'meanwhile use', as part of the larger Central Winchester Regeneration scheme.
A planning application for the demolition was permitted in May. The building has been empty since 2014.

Winchester City Council confirmed that work had started on removing the building's internal fixtures and fittings.
The site is part of the Central Winchester Regeneration scheme, which includes development of the Broadway and Friarsgate, also known as Silver Hill.
The latest updates of the scheme will be discussed by civic chiefs at the Cabinet Committee: Regeneration on Wednesday, October 4.
