A REPEAT offender has been banned from much of Winchester city centre and a number of shops that she has targeted.

Michelle Humble, 38, has been hit with a criminal behaviour order for two years after she admitted four thefts and an assault.

Humble, of Sussex Street, Winchester, must not enter the High Street between Southgate Street and Middle Brook Street nor go into Marks and Spencer or Boots.

Further afield, she is barred from the cathedral grounds and Tesco Express on Andover Road. The CBO also bars her from threatening or abusing any shop workers.

Basingstoke Magistrates Court on Friday September 22 also imposed a community order to last until September 21 2024 with up to 25 days rehabilitation activity.

David Fosler, prosecuting, said Humble admitted three thefts on August 1: food valued at £10.64 from the Asian Food Hall on Upper Brook Street; wine from M&S worth £15; cosmetics from Boots valued at £26.27.

On August 18 she stole cosmetics worth £100 from Boots and assaulted Catherine Holmes. Humble was ordered to pay £50 compensation to Boots and Ms Holmes.

No order was made for court costs.
