Fans of Die Hard are in for a treat later this month as Richard Marsh's acclaimed retelling of the 1988 cult-classic comes to the Theatre Royal in Winchester.

The production will be performed on Wednesday, September 20 at 7pm.

The one-man production written by and starring Fringe First-winner Richard Marsh and directed by Hal Chambers recounts the plot of the ever-popular action movie with a comedy twist.

Originally starring Bruce Willis and Alan Rickman, Die Hard tells the story of off-duty policeman John McClane's daring rescue of hostages in a Los Angeles skyscraper seized by gunmen.

The production is described as an "affectionate tribute to the iconic 80s festive fan favourite", and has received positive reviews from The Guardian and The Times alike for its writing and clear affection for the film.

Since premiering at the 2022 Edinburgh Fringe, Yippee Ki Yay has toured the United Kingdom, with Winchester being just one of many venues hosting the show ahead of its international debut in the United States later this year.
