A WINCHESTER organisation is urging students to apply for the chance to study in America with their support.

The Georgia Rotary Student Program is open for applications for its 2024 to 2025 scholarship. The Winchester Rotary Club is hoping to sponsor multiple students £1,000 to study in Georgia for a year, with the rest of the fees being paid by Georgia Rotary.

Applicants, recommended by their home Rotary club from across the world, are given the opportunity to study whatever course they like. They live in student accommodation on campus but are hosted by local Rotary families.

Steve Feeney, who coordinates the project for Winchester Rotary Club, said: “Students can try out courses and make sure they’re making the right choice for a degree. It puts them ahead of other students.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity and not one to be missed. Parents have said how life-changing and transformative it has been for their children.

“If more students can afford the £1,000 sponsorship then we can also help them with the process.”

Applying to GRSP is the best decision I have ever made.”
