I was impressed by the masterplan for Manor Parks proposed green super village on the site of the former South Winchester Golf Course (Chronicle, July 27).

It shows masses of green space and virtually no concrete plus all the right words, 15 minute neighbourhood, principles, sustainable transport, 4-5 to the city centre, renewable energy, park and habitat creation.

It does seem a shame that the lovingly tended fairways and greens of the golf course must be slaughtered to achieve this.

It occurred to me that the authors of this masterplan have the talent to move it just down the road and with a few tweaks superimpose it on the Bushfield Camp site.

Perhaps Bloor Homes and the Church Commissioners could do a land swap and we could have a green super village and a lovely golf course.
