ROMSEY'S annual Mayor's Picnic took place this weekend, with scores of people flocking to enjoy the fun.

The Romsey Mayor's Picnic, renowned for its unique quirks and traditions such as dunking the Mayor into a pool of water, returned once again this weekend, Sunday, July 2.

The Mayor’s Picnic plays a central part in raising the community spirit and is described as a "fitting addition to the Romsey Festival."

This year featured groups playing on the bandstand, stalls, and activities organised by the Rotary Club of Romsey Test.

Regular events in the popular afternoon included the duck race on the River Test, an obstacle course, raffles, draws and a variety of skills tests.

The above gallery shows 13 photos from the event, taken by John Turner and Victoria Parker, members of the Romsey Advertiser Camera Club.

The photos show the Royal Party Crowning, the town crier in action and some of the exciting stalls and entertainment that featured at the free fête.

The Mayor of Romsey, John Ray can also be seen in the pictures.
