THE Cart and Horses has announced its official opening date as its six-figure refurbishment comes to an end.

Following three months of extensive renovation work, the Hampshire country pub will open its doors for the first service on Tuesday, July 25, with bookings currently available.

Situated on London Road, Kings Worthy, the Grade II listed building is currently undergoing restoration, with new interiors and pub garden, complete with outside bar and firepit.

With parts of the building dating back to the 18th century, the renovation showcases some of the venue's original features including conservation-protected brickwork, open fireplaces and a reimagination of the old Coach House as a private dining area, complete with its very own private entrance.

A centralised bar, showcasing the building’s original 18th century oak beams, will be home to an extensive drinks range including three ale taps, bottled beers, spirits, cocktails and a collection of over 45 bottles of world wines. An array of non-alcoholic drinks will also be available alongside coffees created in partnership with roasters Paddy & Scott’s.

With reservations now open, guests can await the pub’s curated food menu designed by executive chef, Ben Silvester and newly appointed head chef, Aaron Reay.

Celebrating provenance and the best of seasonal British produce, the menu offers options for all occasions.

Ben Jones, the newly appointed general manager at The Cart and Horses, said: “The Cart and Horses is really something special and to see it all start to come together these last few weeks has been amazing.

“Whether you’re dropping in for a pint, getting together with friends and family for a Sunday lunch or hosting a celebratory dinner, we’ve considered every detail to make sure we can give our guests the best experience. I can’t wait to open the doors and finally welcome locals in.”
