Having attended the initial public meeting at Badger Farm, the impression was that potential development would not include multi-storey structures. No mention of thousands of jobs, hotel and student accommodation.

Car parking, increased traffic and access are but a few genuine concerns.

I also raised concerns regarding Whiteshute Ridge, which is a much loved and popular for walkers and wildlife, but was given the impression that it would not infringe upon the area.

There is a most beautiful avenue of trees right next to the camp.

Councillor Brian Laming and chairman of the City of Winchester Trust Keith Leaman are certainly as concerned as most Badger Farm residents are.

I trust all parties will gather together to ensure strict and acceptable plans are put forward for serious scrutiny.
