ROMSEY police say that officers have responded to more than 100 incidents of anti-social behaviour in the last six months.

The officers said that they had attended 112 reports of anti-social behaviour and that the majority of incidents “manifested” into other offences which were dealt with accordingly.

Romsey police also stated that five Section 34 Dispersal Orders have been implemented in the last six months to tackle ongoing anti-social behaviour, with the number of incidents dropping as a result.

In a post on the Test Valley Cops Facebook page, Romsey police said: “In the last 6 months, we have responded to 112 reports of anti-social behaviour. A majority of these incidents have manifested into other offences and we have dealt with those accordingly. Our go-to response to ASB is Engage, Educated & Enforce. In the last 6 months, we have had to get 5 Section 34 Dispersal Orders implemented to tackle the on-going ASB issue and the results show that these dispersal orders have reduced the ASB in the local area.

“We continue to be dedicated to make Romsey a safe and welcoming environment for ALL residents and we want to reassure you all that we are doing and will continue to do everything we can, to make that happen. All we ask of our residents is to report these issues to us through either 101 or the website, otherwise, we will not be able to deliver the service you all deserve!

“We hope this post gives you some semblance of reassurance that we are listening to your concerns and doing our best to deal with the local issues as best we can.”
