A PUB by a Hampshire village railway station has re-opened following a six-figure transformation.

The Bridge Inn, in Shawford, opened on Monday, May 22 showing off its full refurbishment, with hundreds of thousands of pounds going into modernising the interior and exterior.

The rural spot, which is part of Greene King’s Chef and Brewer Collection of country pubs, has a new outside bar with glass-top gazebos, fitted with heating and lighting, to improve al fresco dining.

Inside, the inn has room for 20 more guests with new furniture and furnishings throughout.

Alongside the opening is the launch of The Bridge’s spring menu, including weekend brunch, daily specials and seasonal cocktails.

General manager, John Molley, said: “With summer just around the corner, we couldn’t be more excited to show our newly refurbished pub off to our guests both old and new. There’s never been a better time to enjoy premium al fresco dining in our new look garden terrace and we have no doubt it will be hugely popular.
