WINCHESTER drivers will have nine road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M3, from 9pm November 30 2020 to 6am May 17 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound, junction 11, slip road closure for M3 Concrete barrier Scheme.

• A27, from midnight, February 27 to 11.59pm June 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): abnormal load - Essex to Southampton.

• M27, from 6am November 8 2021 to 6am August 31 2023, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M3 northbound and southbound, junction 9 to 14, Narrow lanes and 50mph for Concrete barrier scheme.

• M3, from 9pm December 11 2020 to 6am September 9 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound, junction 9, slip road closures for M3 Concrete barrier Scheme.

• M27, from 8pm November 7 2021 to 6am October 12 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M3 both directions, junction 9 to junction 14, Lane closures for M3 Concrete barrier Scheme.

And a further four closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A34, from 8pm May 18 to 6am May 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 both directions Three Maids Hill, slip road and lane closures for drainage work, diversion via National Highways network.

• M27, from 8pm May 19 to 6am May 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 eastbound, junction 11 to junction 12, Lane closure for barrier repairs.

• A34, from 8pm May 19 to 6am May 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 both directions Bullington to Litchfield, Lane closure for barrier repairs.

• A303, from 8pm May 24 to 6am May 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 northbound, Winnall to Three Maids Hill, carriageway closure for structures work.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
