FEARLESS fundraisers will soon have the chance to take on Winchester Rotary’s firewalk, in support of two charities combatting domestic abuse.
On Friday, June 9 at Trinity Winchester participants will walk across 15ft of hot coals.
Sponsorship will go towards Trinity Women’s Services and One Small Thing – The Hope Street Project, with both organisations working with women to overcome the effects of domestic abuse.
Current Winchester Rotary president Deborah Macartney will be among those taking part as she nears the end of her year in office - supporting the charities she nominated.

Firewalkers will receive training an hour before the event from two-time Guinness World Record holder for the ‘Greatest Fire Walking Distance’ (328ft) Scott Bell.
Scott will explain the history of firewalking and best technique to complete it. The fundraiser run by Firewalk UK will start at 7.30pm after the training. Walkers should be at 12 years old.
Entry costs £30, including training and food, with each participant expected to raise a further £100 in sponsorship.
