FANS of folk music will be in for a treat as The Fureys come to Winchester at the end of May.

Described as one of Ireland’s all-time most acclaimed and influential middle-of-the-road, folk and traditional bands, The Fureys will bring to the stage their best-loved songs including classics like When You Were Sweet 16, Red Rose Café, From Clare to Here and The Green Fields of France.

The band will also share tales from their 45-year journey, sharing stories from their vast collection of personal stories of their musical experiences and friendships – gathered together by Eddie and George Furey.

The Fureys, who have won fans around the world, have performed for audiences including the former Australian Prime Minister John Howard and the late Pope John Paul II. With their folk music receiving standing ovations in some of the biggest concert halls in the world, their performance promises to be a night to remember.

The Fureys will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on Saturday, May 27 at 7.30pm.
