Applications are open until April 9 and applicants can expect to hear back by April 14.

A cathedral spokesperson said: "We've got a higher number of chalets available this year and we've had lots of brilliant applications already.

"We are looking forward to welcoming back repeat traders who we have established relationships with while introducing traders with chalets offering artisan foods, homewares, children’s and pets lines for the first time."

Retail exhibitors have the option to showcase for either half of the 35 days or the full duration while catering applicants will need to commit to a stall for the whole market.

In addition to the 120 chalets, including the makers’ market, food court and retail huts, there will be a nativity scene and bandstand managed by the cathedral.
