Romsey Bowling Club celebrated its Presidents Day by raising yet further funds for charity.

On Sunday, August 21 members enjoyed a game of Bowls followed by a meal in the clubhouse.

All money raised on the day went to the Challengers charity, which was chosen by club president Brian Parsons.

Challengers provide inclusive, fun and safe places for disabled children and young people to spend time with their friends across the South East.

Mr Parsons' aim at the beginning of the year was to raise £1,000 pounds for the organisation, and he has said he is "very pleased" to announce the club is "close" to reaching that target with part of the season left to go.

Club member Gillian Wait, said: "It has been a very good season so far for us and we have our finals weekend coming up on September 3 and 4.

"The members of Romsey Bowling Club very much enjoyed watching the bowls at the Common Wealth Games, as I am sure many of you did. Anyone who would like to have a go at Bowling please go to our website romseybowlingclub.com for contact details. Alternatively, pop down over finals weekend to have a look and find out more."
