PRESCHOOLERS have been spreading Christmas spirit with a sing-a-long at a Winchester old people’s home.

Fifteen children from Music with Mummy classes performed at Flowerdown Care Home, in Harestock Road.

With residents using musical instruments and children using a parachute covered in teddies the group sang everything from Jingle Bells to ‘The Wheels on the Bus’.

Josie Dade, who set up the sessions eight years ago and runs the classes from her Winchester home, said it was “a joy” to use music to bring together the different age groups.

She said: “The children were aged one to four and the little children were absolutely in their element. It’s a lovely thing to do for the older people, especially those that don’t see young children often with being in a care home. Music is such a great vehicle for bringing everyone together.”
